The Disability Employment Awareness Committee of the Shenandoah Valley (DEACSV) is a voluntary group comprised of, but not limited to, representatives from the Department of Rehabilitative Services, Virginia Workforce Center, Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired, Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, Community Services Boards, Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind, local Public School Systems, Employment Services Organizations and local businesses.

The DEACSV service area includes the Cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro and the Counties of Augusta, Bath, Highland and Rockingham.

The DEACSV's goal is to promote employers, agencies and individuals 'who are making a difference' for individuals with disabilities in our communities. This committee works toward enhancing public awareness of the employability of individuals with disabilities.

The DEACSV recognizes employers who have made the necessary accommodations for employees to be a part of the mainstream workforce.
